The Guard, established in 1504 by King Ferdinand the Catholic, is Europe’s oldest Royal Guard and is formed by soldiers from the three branches of the Armed Forces. The senior unit and one of the oldest body guards in the World is the Corps of Gentlemen of the Chamber, dating to 1006 and created by Sancho Garcia of the House of Castile
