King's Cup dinner, August 4
The holidays started earlier for HM the Queen and her sister Princess Irene of Greece and Denmark. They arrived at the usual holiday destination of the family, the Palace of Marivent in Mallorca.
The Infanta Elena and her children, Victoria Federica and Felipe, were the next to arrive. The kids were enrolled in sailing classes and were pictured with their mother, grandmother and their mother’s cousin, HE Doña María Zurita.

A couple of days before the start of the King’s Cup sailing race, the Infanta Cristina arrived with her family. It was the first time the Infanta took part in the regatta in years, and she arrived early to train.

The next one to arrive to the island was Prince Felipe, who, like her sister doña Cristina, participated in the King’s Cup and trained on Friday.
On Monday, the first day of the competition, the Queen, the Infanta Elena and all the children wished good luck to Prince Felipe and Infanta Cristina at the club.

That day the rest of the Royal Family arrived to the Palace. The King, the Princess of Asturias and the Infantas Leonor and Sofía flew together. The King continued with his official agenda in Mallorca, meeting with the President of the Government and the local and regional politicians in the next days. Meanwhile, the rest of the family enjoyed their holidays going to the club, to a concert, to a photography exhibit, to the beach, on the royal yacht, having dinner in Palma….There was also time for a couple of official events, a dinner at the club to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the King’s Cup, a dinner at the Royal Palace of La Almudaina with the local and regional authorities and the awards delivery for the race.

After their Mallorcan holidays, the family is expected tomorrow for a meeting with the Pope in Zarzuela Palace. It’s not confirmed if the Duke and Duchess of Palma de Mallorca and their children will be present or back in Washington. Likewise, it’s not known if Felipe and Victoria de Marichalar will be in England, but the Infantas Leonor and Sofía are expected.
